Just a knockout. This three-piece consists of Allan Crocksford, Graham Day and Wolf Howard (late of the Prisoners, Mighty Caesers, James Taylor Quartet, etc.), with organ guest stars Taylor and Fay Hallam. While the music is steeped in sixties mod style, it’s also highly original, and the band sounds unbelievably confident as they rip through Day’s catchy, metaphysical songs. And jeez, whatta voice. I’ve got my fingers crossed that someone brings this group to the west coast soon, because I can just tell they are even better live. Recommended.
